II. Activities before departure

Where have you gained information about the Erasmus programme? (e. g. on internet, from classmates) od spolužáků, ze Zahraničního oddelení DiFa JAMU
What was your motivation to study abroad (tick in the list, more items can be ticked) deepening my knowledge in the field of study
improving language skills
stay abroad as a life experience
desire to be independent, self-sufficient
future career, better future job opportunities
Where is it possible to obtain information about courses taught at the host institution? Web: http://www.newport.ac.uk/artmediadesign/Pages/AMDHome.aspx
What documents are required by the host institution within the admission/application procedure? Learning agreement
How is the admission/application procedure done? (select) both on-line and per post
How long before departure should be the admission/application procedure completed? cca. 9 měsíců
In what language were your courses (mainly) taught? (select from the menu) angličtina
How was your language preparation before the study abroad? (language, length of preparation, type of course, special preparation course organized by the home or host institution)? Anglicky hovorím plynule, nijako som sa nepripravovala.
How would you evaluate your language skills as for the language in which you studied abroad? (1=excellent, 5=very bad/insufficient)
a) before studying abroad 1
b) after studying abroad 1
Have you participated in an EILC (Erasmus Intensive Language Courses)? no

III. Academic Issues

Before departure, had your Learning Agreement (Studienvertrag, Contract d´études) been signed by both your home and host institutions? (select) yes, it had been signed by both before my departure
Did you change the Learning Agreement during your study abroad period? (select) yes
Registration for courses to be studied at the host institution: when does it take place and how is it done? (Are there any restrictions as for the selection of courses? May the registration be modified later on?)
Would you recommend some interesting course/lecturer? Všetky povinné sú výborné.
Did you take exams at the host institution? (select) yes
Did you do an internship/job placement as a part of your study period abroad? (select) no
Please describe the methods of learning/teaching (theory, practice, projects) and the methods of evaluation/assessment of students's performance at the host institution and compare them with the situation at your home institution.
How do you see the quality of teaching at the host institution compared to your home institution? (select) higher
How did you obtain study materials at the host institution? (were these distributed for free during lectures or was it necessary to buy them?) Všetko zdarma.
How is the availability and facilities of the library?
How is the availability of computer facilities (availability of internet connection, is it necessary to have your own notebook?, possibilites of printing and copying)?
Does the host university use the ECTS system? (select) yes
Does the host institution (or a local student organization) organize some special events for exchange students? (select) yes
If YES, please select and specify Pick-up service at the moment of arrival:
Welcome day/evening:
Orientation week:
International weekend:
Trips and/or cultural events:
Were you integrated into study groups with local students while studying abroad? ano
How would you evaluate the level of your integration into the group of local students? (1=high level of integration, 5=very poor or none) 2

IV. Practical aspects of the study abroad period

Which type of accommodation did you use while studying abroad? (select)? shared apartment with other students
Price of your accommodation (in EUR monthly) 421
Please explain why did you choose this type of accommodation (describe the equipment of the flat/dormitory; internet connection; recommend what to bring with you; possibility of checking in in the evening or during a weekend) Zo skúseností spolužiaka som vedela, že koleje sú predražené a preto som si našla ubytovanie v študentskom dome.
How long before the start of the study abroad period should the search for accommodation be started? What searching methods would you recommend? cca. 2 mesiace pred zač. semestra
Where can students have/buy their meals?
What are the prices of basic foodstuffs? (Please compare them with the Czech Republic.) cca. 2x drahšie
How to get to the place of study, approximate ticket prices, tips for purchasing tickets Ryanair pre lety.
What are the possibilities of local transport (public transport system, bicycle, walking; approximate costs)? MHD- možnosť zakúpiť študentskú kartu UNIGO na cestu zadarmo jednou spoločnosťou (cenu si napamätám, ja som chodila pešo, treba vygoogliť). Inak asi 1.30 libry za lístok po meste. Taxíky z hypermarketov domov okolo 3-5 libier.
What formalities should be arranged after arrival (e.g. residence permit)? EU- žiadne
What type of health insurance did you use? (approximate cost, advantages, disadvantages, does the host institution require any special type of insurance?) Európska kartička zdravotného poistenca- všetko zadarmo/ na účet domovskej poisťovne.
Did you have experience with medical treatment abroad? (select) ano

Had you received the first payment of your Erasmus grant before your study period abroad started? yes
If NOT, then when did you receive it?
How did you receive your Erasmus scholarship? prevod na CESKY ucet
You experience with bank services / accounts (do you recommend to open a bank account abroad, using Czech bank cards abroad)? Doporučujem zriadiť český účet v EURách, najlepšie so sesterskou bankou v UK.
Were you charged any fees by the host institution (for the issuance of your student card, insurance, copying, study materials, etc.)? ne

VI. Academic recognition of your studies abroad by the home institution

How many ECTS did you obtain during your study abroad period? 30.0
How many ECTS were academically recognized/transferred by your home institution? 0.0
Under which status were the courses studied abroad recognized by your home institution? (select and specify - list respective courses) compulsory courses: vraj sa mi kredity na JAMU zapíšu do nepovinných voliteľných predmetov. Zatiaľ neviem.
Had you been informed before you departed abroad which courses will be recognized by your home institution? (select) yes
What is the procedure of academic recognition like at your home insitution? (What are the steps you have to follow, what are the problems you can meet?) Máme Individuálny štúdijný plán kvôli špecifickosti nášho oboru a nenahraditeľnosti niektorých predmetov.
